Bow River Alberta Fly Fishing – August 19, 2020

Water levels have been hovering around 105cms the last couple days; and another sunny day with high temperature has definitely warmed up the river water temperatures.

The past week of hot weather and bright sunlight didn’t seem to have deterred the fish from eating today. We started off yanking streamers, sparkle minnows and leeches, off the banks for about an hour with a couple brought to the net. Then switched to a hopper dropper rig, also with success. We eventually switched to fishing a single foam hopper for the rest of the day, probably the smartest thing we did all day.
